Montreal International Jazz Festival 2019

The Montreal International Jazz Festival was founded in 1979 with the purpose of bringing the best musicians in the world to Montreal. It has been a non-profit organization since 1981 with a mandate to popularize jazz and its related musical forms with free outdoor shows and wide distribution.

This year the event is hitting a major milestone as it conducts its 40th edition. It is taking place from June 26 to July 6, 2019 primarily in the Quartier des Spectacles sector surrounding the Place des Arts and across the street from Complexe Desjardins in downtown Montreal. There you will find a number of large outdoor stages featuring different artists throughout the day as well as supporting services selling food and drinks to the festival goers.

The Montreal International Jazz Festival is one of the major Montreal summer tourist attractions, along with the Montreal Formula 1 race, and has been a springboard for musicians from all over the world.
